Heather Wilson, DPM is a foot and ankle surgeon specializing in sports medicine, orthotics, conservative care, diabetic foot care, wound care, and podopediatrics. She holds a Bachelor of Science. in Biology from William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Wilson completed her residency at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Northport, Long Island, NY, and prior to joining Modern Foot & Ankle, has practiced in private settings in Virginia for more than 20 years.
Motivated by a desire to help people improve their function and mobility, Dr. Wilson brings compassion, effective communication, and problem-solving skills to her practice. She joined Modern Foot & Ankle because of its streamlined approach, focus on patient care, and use of advanced technology to achieve excellent outcomes. She is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, continuously learning, and collaborating with her peers to stay at the forefront of podiatric medicine.
Dr. Wilson is inspired by her family and lives by the advice to "do your best at all times and treat others how you want to be treated." Her best days are those where she can improve a patient’s quality of life, health, and mobility.
Dr. Wilson and her family have vacationed in Florida for years, and she now enjoys practicing in the region for its warm climate and outdoor activities. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, yoga, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her family, including her husband and their two college-aged children, and their pets—two Shih Tzus, and two cats.
